Default does this even sound right?????!!!!

i have a 96 civic. car was an automatic, swapped it to manual. ive been redlineing it to 8200 with an automatic gauge cluster. so finally i got a cluster from a 98 ex 5 speed. however with the manual cluster the car will only go to 6800 and hit fuel cutoff or redline, i put the auto cluster back in with no tach and it goes to 8200 again. WTF. i need a tach. the way i know its going to 8200 without the tach is because it is fully tuned and thats what the redline is. plus u can hear and feel it. anyone else ever have a retarted problem like this

there could be a ECU conflict with the different clusters and plugs/wires... just a thought.

h22 ran by a chipped p28. redline is set at 8200. i put the auto cluster in with no tach it goes to 8200. put the manual cluster in with tach and it goes to 6800. i thought clusters can be swapped

i thought that 2 but the ecu is a p28 and it is not throwing a CEL. almost like limp mode. its confuseing. and yes both CEL lights work. ive put auto ecus in manuals and vice versa. this is confusing the crap out of me.

i would say whatever makes the car work correctly would be what i used until i fixed the problem... that is weird but im sure it has something to do with ECU to cluster compatibility.

no but its fully tuned and Chris from XENOCRON said that it is safe. a h22 doesnt hit its real power til like 6800 so 8200 isnt that bad. ive seen built ones go to 9k and a lude stock is like 7800 or something right in that area

a p28 is out of a ex and so is this cluster. the ecu is also manual and so is the cluster. do u know if a vss will throw a code if its not functioning right?
