I've been trying to get a manual 5spd cluster w/ tach for my EG for awhile cus mine doesn't have a tach.... but was wondering if it's possible to purchase the auto one (cheaper) and just swap the gas guage/temp guage part of the cluster? Has anyone ever done it? I don't have one yet to try it out so I was wondering if someone has. It looks like there's only 2 bolts holding the gas guage/temp gauge part.

You can't swap gauges from a cluster with a tach into one without one, with the exception of the speedometer. The cluster housings from a cluster with tach and one without tach are different. But you can use an AT cluster in a MT car, and vice versa.

na you can't swap the no tach/ tach ****.

but you can just use the auto cluster with tach.

back in the day i ran one with a strip of black tape over the PRNDD3D2D1 ****.

just to make sure before i go and buy this manual cluster for my dad's automatic civic, we just basically leave the gear indicator lights unplugged right?
