what dampering system should i get in my eg?
i want to buy myt dampering system for my eg but i don't know in which direction to go. i was trying to get some ksport kontrol but i heard bad stuff about them. then i was trying to get the skunk 2 pro dampering ones but i heard that they only last good for a year. so i was wondering if you guys can give some other good brandss to choose from or get. thanks
Koni 'Sports' (aka yellows) or Bilstein, forget the rest (unless you can afford Penske).
If you also want stiffer and / or lower springs then you're better off with the Koni or Bilstein dampers and seperately sourced springs rather than with a 'coil-over' (i.e. springs and dampers packaged together). The dampers incorporated into 'coil-overs' do not match the quality or performance of Koni or Bilstein dampers, and the damper is the most important part.
Koni also has it's own 'coil-over' comprising a uniquely valved 'Sport' damper and Neuspeed springs (?). This would be a very good bet I'd think (no personal experience of them).

Good Advice.

Use the search function on this site, & look at the shock dynos thread(sticky) at the top of this forum. Search: PIC Performance, Bilstein Sport, Koni Yellow, & Ground Control. You don't need anything more, forget the flashy ****.

I sense / suspect that he might really want 'coil-overs' in preference to anything better...?
'Coil-overs' are a sort of cult fetish object for a lot of people. For these people it's not really considered that other options might actually be superior, just so long as they have (or lust after) what are percieved as the best posssible 'coil-overs'.
This fetish is as irrational and impenetrable to logical discussion / argument as is the cult for massive rims wrapped in rubber bands, and that for dragging the car's belly along the road. Some people are fully paid up members of all these cults!

True, you can't tell people what they simply don't wanna hear. Some just have to have something pretty w/ a turning **** on top of it. Whether the **** actually does something or not.... that is irrelevant as long as they believe it actually does something, because their buddies all have them, & when they rode in their car (which is slammed to point of non-existant shock travel, i.e. making the rebound **** now completely pointless), they are duped into thinking it actually "rides/handles stiff/good." Oh well... At least they were [PUN]cheap[PUN].
To the OP, JHPUSA.COM sells the "coil-overs" you're looking for. I'm sure you'll be thrilled with them.

I just bought a car that has Mugen N-Zero dampers (supposedly).
they look good. not sure if they perform well, or how to get them rebuilt when the time comes...

Unfortunately, for many people their cars are mostly about 'form' and very little about 'function'. 'Street cred' and percieved 'coolness' are often far more important to many car owners than any other consideration, even if they manage to convince themselves otherwise. It's a pity that so many things in so many areas of life are considered 'cool' for utterly irrational reasons, but then homo sapiens is a very very irrational species...

contact King Motorsports w/ your questions. They look like they are made to handle some STIFF rates. Search "Mugen or Showa Dampers" in RR/AX archives, as not many on here will have experience with those, as they are expensive. [sarcasm]& why buy those when you can get the "same thing" from F&F/Ksport/whatever.[sarcasm]
