whats part number 9 called? i think its messing my idle up! the tops snapped of it and the connector for the hose to the cannister is missing!

Thats wierd. When I look at it I see number 8 as the evap purge sol. 9 is part of the evap but not the purge sol.

That definately looks like an evap purge solenoid.

 

ok, and we are all looking at part 9 in the top left corner ye!?

 

It shows that #9 mounts to the IM, every purge solenoid I've ever seen mounts to that spot (on side draft IM anyway).

It shows that #18 goes from the IM to the PS and #20 goes from the PS to the canister, so #9 has to be the PS.

I can't figure out what #8 it though.....is this and EDM specific engine?

 

Im 99.9999% sure that #9 is the evap purge solenoid too. I have no idea about that #8 either.

 

thats the evap and you dont need it... OBD1 does not look for it i dont believe... just detunes the ECU and the smell doesnt change really at all.

Yeah he asked about number 9 and it looks like the older style evap setup. Though im not very familiar with it. Number 8 is the OBD2 evap purge solnoid thats linked to the ecu. I swear. I had to mess with this a bunch when I was getting my gsr swap checked by the ref. For what vehicle did you pull this picture from?

This is for your B16A2 I take it, correct?

I take it your B16A2 is from overseas. The USDM Civic Si B16A2 does not have that part. The European B16A2s do though.
