Default Question (?) on Installing 94-97 SirG Fog Lights

Can installing these be as simple as splicing them into the bumper/driving lights wiring at the bumper? Is there enough power?

you're probably gonna want to have it's own power supply. just because of the flow of current of fog lights are higher so it'll take more power.

i helped my buddy with his fogs and we just used his cruise control button (we took out the cruise control)

Just run a power wire off the battery, through the firewall (with a fuse) to the dash. Hook up an easily accessible switch on the dash, and then run the wire back through the engine bay to the fog lights. Not hard at all.

i had them hooked up to my running lights for like 5 months with no problems, till i wired them up properly with a switch and relay

oh and these are si-vtec fogs. sir-g integra's are '98 and up jdm gsr's, which had the foglights intergrated in the one piece headlights

correct!

did you notice any brightness difference from splicing them into the driving lights rather then putting them on a switch?

its brighter when they're on their own power source, but when they were spliced they were still pretty damn bright

Just go to your local dealer and ask for the installation instructions and it will tell you the locations of the wires that are already in your car ready for the fog light kit. I know many parts to that kit are discontinued but you could still use the connectors and wires that are already in place.

yeah, looks to be discontinued harness and switch. Any other OE honda/acura switches work with the DC arm rest slots?

Those fog lights look faulty. I'll give you some money for them to take that trash off your hands.

Check this thread out, do this and only this and you will have no problems what so ever.

I have mine hooked up this way. But, If you did splice into the bumper lights I wouldn't imagine they would be less bright seeing how the car run's 12 volts everywhere in the system. Hope that helps

I appreciate the feedback guys, my next question is if I did splice the fogs into the driving lights: Driving lights=bumper lights

Which bulb would I splice into inner or outer ones?

Does this mean the fogs will blink when the turn signal is on? Since both bumper light bulbs blink when turning?

If I only spliced to one side connecting the fogs together this mean they will both blink when one turn signal is on? And do I need to wire them up to each side of the car incase they do blink when turn signal is on?

use a voltometer and test the wires on the socket that has 3 wires(should be the inner socket with the bigger bulb) the wire that has a constant 12v current when the running lights are one is the one you tap into, and you'll have no blinking fog lights

I appreciate your guys help. You were correct!

Inner socket on the driving lights, 3 wire setup.

Splice on each side:
Red/Black Wire is 12v source to Red/Blue JDM Fog wire
Black is Ground and Black is Ground on JDM Fog wire

Looks to be bright also! Waiting to see at night...
