Lowering Car
Alright so im bout to throw on my tein springs and skunk 2 shocks but my buddy told me i should order 2 bolts for the rear suspenion.. i think it was for the lca he said.. i guess they always snap when lowering teh car and i was wondering if you guys thought i should order the bolts first and exactly what ones they are called .. also would a auto zone have them or would i have to go through a honda dealer..
yes on like80% of all civics and integra the bottom bolt on the rear struts snaps cuz it gets all corroded inside the bushing, problem is, it snaps cuz its fused to the bushing, so then u need to cut the old shock out, then press out the old bushing and press in the new bushing.
its not too hard if you have the right tools.

yeah well the only time i have to do it is after work monday .. and its my only car so just incase the bolt breaks i want to have one so i can drive .. you think an auto zone would have it or just go to honda dealer? and this is the lower strut bolt correct?

yea rear lower strut bolt. and the rear lower strut bushing that goes in the lower control arm, its not a dealer only part. foreign autopart, or now called autopart international should have it. autozone might need to special order it.
maybe just go to the honda dealer cuz theyll def have it in stock. its very common thing to replace.

you'd be dumb to not get those bolts.. and you can only get them at the dealer and they are hella expensive too!! i paid 10 bucks for each bolt and i bought 4 of them but when i do suspension on my friends cars i just soak the lca bolts with any penetrator (wd-40, free-all, pb blaster) that mated with experience i dont even buy new bolts anymorei just take my time taking the bolts out but trust me if they never broke on you they will if not this time the next
FYI... last time i checked those stupid lower LCA bolts are on back order... I went to try and replace my rear struts, ordered the bolts and am waiting (apparently for the next three weeks) for my bolts to come in.

listen when i first changed my suspension i had no problems with that bolt, and that was on a 95 that had over 250k on the body. My car had 3 different suspensions on it (before i sold it), and never once had an issue with those bolts. Ive done suspension on friends cars with no issues. Use the right tools, a liquid penetrator and patients, you'll be ok.
Not all honda suspension bolts are rust seized. For those who are I recommend PB blaster it bassically a rust solvent. It does a great job of freeing rusted in bolts. I recommend using Anti-seize when reassembling suspension bolts so you can take it back appart next time.

I first ordered them online.... same result. I only have one dealer in my area and their sold out there. So I'll sit and wait to put my struts on lol.
