Default NHBP PAINT REGRETS

Just wondering how many of you regret purchasing NHBP. I've had my 08 Si for a month now and i swear to god if the wind blows the wrong direction my cars paint gets scratched. I had a 05 Satin Silver EP3 for three years and never once had a problem with paint.
The "scratches" wont come off with the Resist All Restorer, Mothers Carn, or Meguires wax either. Is there a product out there that will take these what normally would be surface scratches out of my paint, or is this the curse of NHBP?
I love my car and take extremely good car of it, almost compulsively good care or the car, and this paint problem is driving me NuTS!!!

Meguiars ScratchX just might do the trick... I have an '07 NHBP as well and mine doesn't seem to be scratching.

Try a light hand polish or scratchX like kenny rogers suggested.... maybe even a swirl remover if spider webs are very apparent.... then follow with a regular wax. I do regret getting NHBP in some ways but with regular washes and wax...it will look pretty good.

My brother regrets getting his. We got ours the same day and since he was helping me out with the down payment he got 1st crack at the colors. I liked the other colors available but they all had added equipment I didn't want. Needless to say I got rallye red.

He said if he could do it over again he would get the RR and let me get the NHBP, the color I wanted. He complains of all stuff you do. I offer to clay his car and put a nice coat of wax on there with my high speed buffer but he declines.

Some part of me wishes I would have gotten Rally Red.....but I like my car....it's a bitch to keep clean.....but I don't mind the extra work...because when it is clean they look badass.

Anyway......I sometimes use a product called ZYMOL on my car. It's a polisher/swirl mark remover and it actually works pretty good.

Kinda pricey though. A bottle is around 13 bucks.

i have nhbp and first of all i do not regret getting black.. the only reason why black shows more of scratches is because it is a darker color.. rally red will also show the little tiny surface scratches.. honda is KNOWN for having crappy clear coat.. and on top of that flakes dont help hide the scratches either.. see the reason why you didnt have any problems on your ep3 is because you have a much lighter color and it blends in with the paint.. if your ep3 was black it would show every little scratch.. all cars will have scratches no matter what whether you like it or not.. its not a choice its just going to happen.. besides NHBP is one of the best colors if you're waxing your car.. all otehr colors like white and silver dont really show what wax can do to the color..

I must say I agree with OP. I Totally regret mine, if I could go back i would have bought a white one instead of black. I battle this problem daily. And I too take extreme good care of my care and it never ends. WATERSPOTS and SCRATHES. I just did the Meguirs Paint Cleaner, 3M Hand Glaze, and Epic Wax.......and there is STILL water spots and scratches. I too have the ScratchX and it works pretty good. I just want a Taffy FA5 with Navi.

I have the NHBP paint and don't have an issue with it. My last job was even at a mall and you can imagine the debris the wind blows across it.

Anyways, I saw above someone mentioned Zymol. Though it is in fact pricey, I have to say I haven't used anything else since finding it about three years ago.

Are you washing your car with clean microfiber mitts and drying it microfiber? Chamois and towels will easily scratch your car. Also if your car gets hit with sprinklers you need to wash it ASAP. Leaving irrigation water on your NHBP leaves water spots. You can use a dillute white vinegar solution to try to take off the water spots. All those products you mentioned JUST cover up the swirls/scrathes. You need a tool like a random orbital buffer to take them off.

Yes...it's the poor Honda clear coat quality. My 4 month old '08 Si already has double the chips on the front of it, that my '94 Accord with original paint does. I mean I drive on the highway a lot, but I did in my Accord too.

Its a shame lol the car only has like 3.5k miles its ridiculous. There not just little chips there pretty decent noticible size especially on NHBP.
