civic type r 2010?? how many of you think its true..?
for the past month i must say that ive grown attached to this 4dr civic type r. i currently have a 98 that ive owned for 8 years. to me the dc2 typer was always the best looking and more appealing to me but lately through researching and youtube i found that the fd2 ctr is def the type r to get. im hoping it comes to our shores but do u think its actually possible?? will honda of america bring this so called love affair to a car back to us?? i really do hope so and will go out of my way to get one. i hope we dont get shafted again..

never said it wasn't. I love the itr, I also love hatchies. I need both since my garage holds two cars and still has room to work.

ha. trouble is though, if a DC2-R is a theft magnet, then an EK9 would be too as they're still swappable amongst everything else.
but yea, don't expect to get another Type-R anytime soon, 'not economically viable'....

The only reason the DC2 Type R was sold in the United states is for racing homoglation reasons. And it was still a stripped down version - No Recaro's, cast exhaust manifold, non-HID lights, etc... Sales was poor at first, thats why Honda decided not to even sell any in 1999, but then changed their minds in 2000 and 2001. Even further, for every ITR sold in America, Honda lost money. You might look at the ITR as a successful car in North America. But Honda views it as a failure. Otherwise we would of gotten the NSX, Accord, and Civc Type R variants.
Not to mention that people view Civics as reliable, economical cars. With the Si adding a sporty feel to it. Not many will accept a Civic with a price tag reflecting the race preped feel.
