Yea...while you're at it, take your key and make a bunch of scratches on your bumper to match the ones you'll create by "just yanking the s.o.b. out".
You have to take the bumper off.
Here a DIY... http://www.8thcivic.com/forums....html

You are a moron. Stop instructing people to do things the wrong way. He said ONE is broken. Why break another perfectly good taillight, when it could easily be done the right way. I read the whole damn thing, and it is pointless to not remove the whole bumper. The thing is just hanging there by two clips, waiting to get scratched when you remove/install the taillights. Why wouldn't you just remove the two last clips. It's awkward to put your hand in the position shown in the link, and it'd be so much easier and faster to remove the two remaining clips. I know from experience, unlike you, who just reads DIY(causing you to think you're an installer or something). It is just easier and much safer to just take the thing all of the way off.

Click on this link... http://www.8thcivic.com/forums....html It is a DIY on how to remove all but two clips that hold the bumper on, and how to remove the taillights. I recommend removing the two remaining clips underneath the car, so that you can set the bumper aside. It makes it much easier to unscrew the screws that hold the taillight from the bottom.
*edit* otm k - this is very very easy. On a difficulty scale of 1 to 10 (1 being the easiest), I'd say this is like a 2 or 3 at the most.

i wish i knew you fiji, always talking **** on an internet forum where you can hide behind your keyboard. your like the fastest kid at the special olympics. your just a **** talking loser with a civic. [freak] you
Jesus Christ will BOTH OF YOU JUST SHUT THE HELL UP ALREADY. You two remind me of the classic Chicken vs. Peter Griffin fight on the Family Guy episodes.....always going at each other in different threads.

SIVIC3.....you're out of line to call the OP "retarded" when he's just trying to ask for help. And ripping **** out just because it's broken is almost NEVER a good idea. Especially when you're dealing with a nearly brand new car. I hate to take sides in this little argument....but he DOES have a point and you know it.
What happens when he tries to rip it out and ends up damaging the bumper that the light sits right on top of?? Who is he gonna come back to and throw a bitch fit to for even giving him that idea??
Did you ever stop to think about that?? DID YOU!?
Sometimes finesse can go alot farther than brute force and having patience always pays off in the long run. Remember that the next time you even think about giving people advice to just rip things out/off of their cars.

You know RICO_, most of the time when you say something like that, I usually say to myself "RICO is right, it's gotten out of hand". But I think I was pretty civil about the whole thing, especially considering how Sivic addressed me. Sure I made a smart remark once, and called him a moron once, but I think that was pretty justified, and not out of control.
For the most part, I addressed the actual OP's question, and explained why it's a bad idea to "just rip it out" and why I took the bumper completely off, when I did it.
I NEVER acted tough or like an "e-thug". The truth is, <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by SIVIC 3 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i wish i knew you fiji, always talking **** on an internet forum where you can hide behind your keyboard. </TD></TR></TABLE> is the most "e-thug" thing that has been said the entire thread.
My whole point for posting in this thread was to let otm k and SIVIC 3 know that just "ripping it out" is never a good idea. And, then I provided the OP with information regarding the correct way to do it, and with my opinion (take the bumper completely off) of the easiest way to do it.
*my first response to this thread had nothing to do with the fact that Sivic 3 posted here. All of my posts would have been exactly the same, no matter who it was*

You're absolutely right. You were pretty much civil about the whole matter and for that I commend you. I'm just trying to stop things from escalating any further and getting out of hand.
You answered the OPs question and were absolutely right. That's why I even mentioned to SIVIC3 that "you have a point and he knows it".
