accord repairs help needed
hi, my friends p-reg accord 1.8 is due mot soon, had a look round it today and both c.v boots are split .... wat kind of a job are these to do?
also o/s rear handbrake(on discs)... pulled handbrake on and cud still spin wheel. the spring mechanisn at the caliper seems to be moving ok, any ideas wat cud be wrong?
any help on both subjects much appreciated

Can't say I've ever heard of that.
Can you give a year, make, and model.
Generally speaking the axles aren't too bad to swap.
As to the handbrake, I would check the pad life and see if they're good, and tighten the adjustment for the brake so it pulls harder per click.

parking brake needs adjustment.
you can replace the CV boots easily as the joints can be removed from the shaft but you can get new shaft for $100-$150 from honda and that would be the better route.

think i'll just stick with replacing the boots for now as my mate never has any money lol. i'll try adjusting the handbrake... is the adjuster in the car under the centre console?

it's better to just replace the axles. I bought both axles on ebay for 106 includes shipping. cheap if you ask me.. just do the job yourself.
