Axle Snap Ring...Will I need to replace it.

Axle Snap Ring...Will I need to replace it.
Around Christmas time, I replaced both axles. At that time, the new axles came with new snap rings on the tranny side. I now have problems with my clutch and am going to replace that. My question is, do I need to replace these snap rings?? The maunal am using to help with everything (kind of new to the civic world) says to replace the snap rings.... Should I do this??? OR will the ones currently installed be OK to re-install??
It is a 1988 Civic, LX, D15B motor....
