Help! Msd uninstall
So I have put this off for some time and I am in the process of weeding out problems with the teg. I have an Ls/Vtec.
I had problems with the car bogging while at part throttle and problems with it stalling and not starting. My step-dad and I took off the Dist. cap and cleaned it out and all the plugs. Put it back together and it ran fine after that. Recently I have been running into the same problem again, so I am just going to get rid of my MSD.
I just ordered a new Dist. cap, rotor and internal coil.
My setup is as follows:
Msd Pro Cap
Msd 6AL
Msd Blaster 2 Coil
Problem:
I have been researching and looking up how the msd setup is installed and every diagram I have found kind of does not match mine. From the Dist. cap, I have the main plug connected to the Blaster coil and a black wire coming out of the top of the distributor cap. This black wire is connected to the white wire coming from the 6AL while the red from the 6AL is spliced with a black/yellow wire which runs to the bottom of the distributor. I am guessing the white turning into black wire runs to the trigger wire as Jason (above) state and the diagram shows and the red wire spliced with the black/yellow wire runs to the ignition as shown in the diagram.
So when I got to put the new coil in and take out the msd, what wires will I be connecting to it? Sorry for the long type up, but thanks for any help!!!

if you go to the msd website you can get help on there. i personally think that the msd 6al isn't all that great. i have used that and i think that the sci is alot better. its actually designed for 4 cyl.

Yeah, I have been to the msd pages. And I still fail to see step by step instructions. I see overall diagrams of how it should go. And yes, obviously if I installed it, I would know how to reverse it. It came with the car.
I can bascially take it all out, just confused on what wires I will need to connect back (to what I dont know) when I put the new coil in.
Not trying to be a dick either, sorry. But thanks for any help.

ok, as far as i know, the wires are just spliced into what wires already exist. i know this is generalized but unsplice the splice. know what i mean? if the red goes to the ignition switch, just delet the red from the box. if i am not mistaken, the orange and black go to the msd coil, so you would need to find a picture of (or a buddy's car) to look at and decipher where the wires get pinned in the plug. http://maybe this will help some. as for a picture of the stock plug, maybe you can find a picture on h-t somewhere.
alright, nice. i know exactly what you mean, and that is what i kind of figured i would have to do. now i just gotta wait for the parts to come in and go at it. thanks.
Not only do they not get along well, MSD is vey unnecessary unless you are making rediculous amount of power.
But again, it came with the teg when I bought it, and now I am having problems so I am elminating it and hope that solves my problem.
