check all the fuses, did it work before you dropped it off? make and model of the car
If it worked before you had the alarm installed and whether "they" know what happened or not, the install shop is responsible, if they are not prepared to fix it, tell them you will have it repaired and if it is shown it was because of the install, you will bring the bill to them.
If you got the system from them and they are an authorized Compustar dealer, also tell them you are going to send an Email to Compustar.

Yeah, it worked before we dropped it off. It's a 99 civic si with a b18c.

All the fuses are good. ondenoantra is my cousin and he told me to say what you posted fcm. So i did. Called him up and he said he'll check over everything he did when he did the alarm, but that's it. He was going on about how he has done this for 16 years and he never had a problem. And, how when they installed it, it didnt involve anything with the speedometer. Also, he said that he did everything correctly and he doesnt authorize me bringing it to another mechanic to check it out. And, if i did, he would not pay the bill. He said i could take him to court, but ill just end up losing. Anyways, my cousin told me to bring it up to him so i will on monday so hopefully he'll fix it and my alarm will still be working.
He, [the shop that installed it] should be given the opportunity to solve the problem.
He is correct, the installation should in no way be connected to the speedo, but that does not mean that the install did not cause the problem and although it could be coincidental, [it happens] that the speedo stopped working at the same time they did the install of the alarm, the odds are pretty high against that.
It could be as simple as a plug not plugged in all the way, or maybe they tagged into a lead they should not have, it could be any number of things, including one that has nothing to do with them and just coincidental.
If you do end up taking it to someplace else, and they find that it has something to do with the install of the Compustar, [and it can be shown/documented] you would win in small claims court, if the shop owner was dumb enough to go to court.
Remember, **** happens, we can all make mistakes, I have been doing car audio/security for well over 30 years and I still make mistakes on occasion, when a customer comes back with a problem, we find and fix it, if it was my fault, I suck it up, apologize for the inconvenience, if not my fault, and there is no cost to me I will fix it and explain to the customer what the problem was, if there is a cost I will show the customer that it has nothing to do with what we installed.
To avoid the "it worked before I had that installed" or as I like to call it, "my wife stopped sleeping with me after the install syndrome" I precheck all car functions, it takes about 5 min. to do a function check on a car, walk around the car with the customer and point out any dings, chips or scratches.

Well, if you're prepared to take this to small claims, take it to the dealership. Documentation is everything. Testimony is worth nothing. And you will win. His "I'm a perfect installer" wont hold up. If you paid with a credit card, call them.
I understand his perspective, but all the whining about how long you've been installing and how perfect you are does nothing to make the problem go away. Any respectable installer will go over the install and triple check everything and take a shot at a diagnosis of an unrelated problem if he feels qualified. I've fixed plenty of people's unrelated problems that were blamed on me. Every experienced installer has been surprised to find that they caused a problem that seems totally irrelevant to the install. They've also been falsely blamed for problems on a regular basis. If he can't find anything, he should also get the shop senior or another installer to look over it. There's nothing better than another pair of eyes to find your problem.

Tell me where is the alarm installed in the car? Have you made any attempts to look into this yourself? Usually speedometer problems are not too hard to figure out.

Whoever repairs it will know what went wrong, if it is because of the alarm install they will document that on the bill, take a copy of that to the shop that installed the alarm.

Only thing on the cluster that is working is the turn signals and it lights up. Other than that, nothing else works.
I got it installed @ Ck Auto Image in Philadelphia.

It sounds to me like the cluster plug(s) is/are not plugged in or plugged in properly.
I would pull the cluster and check the plug(s), if that's not it I would check for something unplugged under the dash maybe around fuse box.
To be clear, you say the only thing that works on the cluster is the signal light indicators and nothing else, none of the other gauges or warning/indicator lights or dash lights are working, is that correct?

I am not using 2 usernames. The guy who created the thread is my cousin. Anyways, my cousin checked everything and he found out that the whole cluster is gone. Plugged it into another car and it didnt work. Got another cluster and put it into my car and it worked. Thanks for helping me everyone.
