rough idle when cold
heres the problem. for about 15 seconds every morning when i drive the car cold (1997 accord fb22 engine ) the engine will lose power. as soon as the engine warms just a little bit it runs fine. the trouble code says that the engine is suffering from a lean condition. plz help i really am having trouble chasing this problem. btw the engine has 148,000 miles. ty in advance
Hmmmm lean burn...too much air or not enough fuel.
only cold; Hmmmmm
Throttle cable jacked too tight? Should have a little slack in it.
FITV passing too much air, but usually causes an idle surge when cold.
Just how old are those spark plugs? and what kind of plugs?
Maybe the IACV is hanging up? Blast it out with Berrymans B-12.
Try clearing the code and then take careful note of the exact conditions that the causes the CEL again.
The O2 Sensor itself could be going to the "basement" in a handbasket.
