Default can a 4-2-1 header out perform a 2.5" 4-1 header

i am thinking of ditching my DC SS JDM header in favor of the comptech. i noticed that my low and midrange power dropped drastically after the install, probably due to the larger collector. i have a friend here in town that runs the comptech in his hatch and he does low 12's all day long, NA. i am pretty sure it would help to bump up the mid range, but will top end performance be sacraficed???? i rather have the power down low than at 8500 rpm of which i rarely see. i dont ever race my car, but am looking for a strong street ride. i am running 01 ITR cams w/ 11:3:1 compression in my GSR w/ all the bolt ons. my mods are in my bio. thanks

I did my own overlay of the two headers, and I found that they were nearly identical, if not the DC having a slight, and I mean slight advantage.

It's all in your head. He has a fast hatch and has a comptech header so therefore comptech header is the *****. Your DC is just fine. I wouldn't swap it out for the comptech for hp reasons...for ground clearance reasons, that's a different story.

from what i've been told over and over again....4-2-1's will have a slightly fatter mid range whereas 4-1's will have the fatter top end.

I ran Crower 63402 cams and DC-421 header.. midrange was way more agressive.. The throttle response was better...
Now I`m running JUN2 and a JDM4-1, raceing cat and b-pipe. Top end is better but midrange seems like just if the R would have to carry "more weight"... The good response in midrange is gone...

Toda is 4-2-1 and they perform great compare to any 4-1 and 4-2-1 headers out in the market.
