Default Copper pieces in A4 Engine oil pan????

I just bought an A4 from a junk yard to put into a 1990 Honda Accord EX. When I dropped the oil pan I found 9-10 small pieces of copper in it. Unsure where it came from. Anyone have an idea?

when the mains or rod bearings get loose/worn they can shed metal that looks coppery.
Just how big are the pieces?

small. the biggest piece was probably half the size of a match (from a book of matches). The rest were smaller flakes. I pulled the back rod bearing and it looked fine. I did not pull the other three. The rear main seal appears to have been leaking quite a bit.
