Default New Si owner checking in, welcome me to the family!

Purchased an 08 Si NHB sedan no navi yesterday, traded in my 07 TSX for it. I used to come to this board a lot when i had my 98 GSR w/ITR swap. Actually dont have the Si yet, they are still trying to locate a NHB for me, should be here by saturday they said.

What do you think about the deal i got?

Gave me $23,754 for the TSX(07 5AT Navi, 11K miles), pay off amount was $15,700.....price of Si $21,525 got 3.9% for 60 months and i put $1k down. Payments will be $231.85 a month. Going to double up on the payments every other month to pay it off sooner.

ugh, i did good with the TSX didnt do any mods to it at all and my 06 TL isnt modded either the only thing i added was the trunk lip spoiler to it. But i have a feeling i will be doing a lot of stuff to the Si.

stuff as in modding? lol. Sounds like you're really into rice but I could be wrong. Nothings wrong with that though really.. iono maybe kinda. haha jk. It's whatever you wanna do. You bought the car & it's your money. However, I'd say the far greater percentage of everyone here is into modding and performance enhancing.

Of course there's alotta guys here with daily drivers and use the site for their questions on fixes for their car that would normally be an easy do-it-yourself (DIY) fix but would cost you @ the shop.

Anyway, welcome again!
By the way, if you ever have a question be sure to use the search engine in the forums before you post a question. There's alotta people on these forums and these forums have been up for a good while now so someone else has probably already had the same question as you before. Whatever the case, if you do post make sure it's in the according forums, trust me, it'll save you from the smack talk

that's all! btw, im not an admin or mod or nethin lol. im just tryin to help ppl learn from my mistakes lol

People need to learn the definition of 'rice':

http://www.urbandictionary.com...Ricer

Just because someone mods their civic doesn't necessarily make them a 'ricer'. It depends on the mods. Actual performance mods = not rice.....hood scoops that don't do anything, gaudy paint job, and 100's of stickers all to make the car look like it's fast = rice.

Thanks for the heads up but i've been a member at Honda-Tech since 2002 and visit regularly ever since then but i dont post much, mostly lurk. I've only owned Honda's/Acura's so this place holds a lot of information for me. I'm not into "rice" or chrome or JDM or any of that **** anymore or even ever. The Si to me is a fun to drive little 4 banger that is good on gas. The only plans i have for it now is Pioneer/Alpine DVD/Nav unit and an HID pnp kit. Maybe a 1 inch drop and some window tint after that. I'll most likely keep it that way until i pay it off.

Sry....forgot to say welcome! Congrats on the new car. Wish I had had you with me when I got my car so I could have finance numbers that good. My dealership screwed me in that department.

I would suggest the Pioneer AVIC-D3 for your head unit. It has a DVD drive, navigation, and if you have an iPod, it has a connector for that too (sold separately though).

Stay away from the pnp HID kits. The quality and durability is not going to be nearly as good as a retrofit. http://www.customlightz.com

The drop and tint will look very good. I had my windows done at 25% and I wish that I had gone a little darker. Even so, it still looks good.

Good luck with the new car!

I agree completely, iono I re-read it and I see how u thought that. I didnt mean to make it sound like I thought modding in general was 'ricing'. My b

Good news, got a call from the dealership and they will have one today and it will be ready by 5pm! Cant wait!

Bought the Pioneer AVIC-D3X yesterday and thinking about ordering a set of SSR GT3's today too. Are 19's too big for a daily driver on the Si? I see almost everybody riding on 17's or 18's.

2 things:

reducing the sidewall height by running a 19" wheel will result in a rougher ride that's harsher over bumps (no fun for DD).

The other thing as that the wheels weigh more than the stock 17's, which is fine, but like people have stated in other threads on wheels; if you look around a little more you can find lighter wheels that you like that will actually add to the performance of the car and not just the way it looks. And lighter doesn't mean more expensive in this case, those SSR's aren't cheap.

enjoy counting the minutes till 5:00

Stick with 18s max to maintain as much performance as possible. 17s would be best....but 18s will do if you want something slightly bigger.

I'm not too concerned about going fast/performance, so if i lose a second on my 0-60 times it doesnt really matter to me.

Any rubbing issues with 19 inch wheels 225/35 tire and a 1 inch drop on the Si?

Can pick up a set of the SSR GT3s for under a grand right now.

It's all because of the ride. It feels alot smoother on the ride which makes me feel alot more secure with the road. When I had the 18s and would drive on the interstate I ended up taking alot more notice to the reflective road markers in the middle of the highway. I would literally try to dodge the markers while changing lanes so it didnt rattle my entire car

the OP should take note; 19's probably aren't cool for a daily driver.

Stick with 18s on 225/40 tires and your 1 inch drop. You won't be dissapointed and you might even save money to.
