we'll when you had it tuned you should have done a tune before just to make sure everything is up to snuff. what engine management are you running?

you know where your vtec solenoid is... unplug the wires. unscrew the three bolts holding it down. pull it off. then you will see the screen sitting in a little puddle of oil. pop it out and clean it off. then just reverse the process and try and see if that didnt help.
what performance parts do you have on your car?

Here I got a couple of things for you buddy.

Checking if you are running rich or lean the Honda way:

Take out the spark plugs, clean them off real good, put them back in.

Take your car out, put it in third gear, go from 2000 rpm to redline.

Immediatly shut off your car and look at each of the spark plugs.

Dark resude is running rich

Light resude is running lean

Clean is the shizznet.
----------------------------------------------------------
Change your spark plug wires, your spark plugs, and cap and rotor to dizzy aka tune up. Check your timing.
----------------------------------------------------------
Any CELs?
----------------------------------------------------------
Take your vtec solenoid, ground the vtec pressure switch. Then retune or rechip it to the same map but dis engage the vtec pressure switch- that fixed my problem which was the same.
---------------------------------------------------------
Fuel filter, fuel pump, injectors....do fuel system cleaning if all else fails. Go to your local jiffy lube ask for a cash deal late at night, most likely they will say yes and charge u like 40 bucks cash to do a cleaning instead of 100. TRUST ME i know this works.
--------------------------------------------------------
PS if u changed ur intake many after the tune, that is the problem ur A/F mixture is off.
-------------------------------------------------------

Honestly, I think it will be fuel filter, or spark plugs. but check it all. Do this all and let me know what is up and I will have u try more if that fails. Much luck!!!

Dont matter. You are running rich, ur tune sux ****. Point and fact not gonna bs u about it. Your tune is ur A/F mixture, the A/F mixture is off, your tune is ****. Clean the fuel system before u retune or u may end up wit the same problem. Do this u will not regret it.
