Default 18" wheels on a 93 prelude

I have a 93 prelude si with bronze 18" enkie evo 5 wheels. I want to lower the it atleast an inch, but im afriad the wheels will rub. The tires i have on them are 225/40/18. If they are to big, I would be willing to sell them.

Thanks!

it will def rub with those tires if its lowered. you could possibly not rub with a 215/35/18 depending on the offset of the rims. IMO 18s look too big on a lude.

I baught them when I had my Acura Vigor, and they looked great on it, but when I sold it I kept the wheels. What would look, and fit the best 17's or 16's. I can't go to thin of a tire because of where I live in ohio, the roads are just to bad.

No monster trucks, it seems like its personal prefrefrence.

Hondas can handle up to 19 inch wheels just fine.

Doesnt mean its the smartest descion to put 18's on a prelude

I had 18s on my last lude

Never again though. Too big, and I felt every bump in the road

When I was feeling around on the back wheels, there was only about a 1/2" to 5/8" gap between the upper control arm and the tire. Would the 215's look funny because they would be thinner then the wheel, and like I said before, it would be real risky for me to put a 35 tire on these wheels, becuase there isn't a smooth road in Youngstown Ohio where I live.

35 series tire will make you pricey wheels bend easy i would go with 40 searies if you can fin them. i worked a tire shop and all 35 series i saw on rims had bends little ones and one got a crack from a pot hole.

i used to have some 215/35/18 on a car. its not a great ride. every bump feels damaging. you have to check the pressure all the time, because you cannot see when the tire is low on air and you will damage the rim and tire. one of my rims got severely bent after it got a nail in it and i hit a pothole with 15psi. and they were not cheap rims. my advice is dont make your car look like doo doo and find some 16s. otherwise you'll regret it.

Damn, you guys should lower your car before you put some big wheels on it

18's will not make for an enjoyable ride in a Prelude.

^that looks amazing "

I had 18's on my lude for a couple of years and just made the transition to 16in slips with a 215/50/16 series tire and the ride is much nicer

Even with a Lowered Suspension, 18s still ride like crap.

Like I said, I had them on my Acura Vigor and they looked great. When I got my prelude, I just put them on there. But you're absolutly right, it definetly needs lowered. I've been looking around and I think I'm going to go with a 16x7 Rota. I'm not sure which ones yet, but i'm thinkin gun metal.

if you rub, just roll or cut the fender
and then drop the car and hope the tires camber in heh

I love it when someone says"I have 18s on mines" I also got F1 fenders on mines, I also got neon lights under mines. Watch out for all those mines, you might get blowed up!!!

I figured i'd have to do that, im worried on the back between the upper control arm and the tire, there's only about 1/2" to 5/8" gap between the two right now. I think it's been settled I want to sell them and get 16" rota boost in gunmetal.

16x8 is the ideal size for Prelude's. Light and maximum surface area.
