Complete Newbie needs help with suspension
Hey guys, I am really enjoying this website and all the friendly people on it, I am a "Complete" newbie, and I cannot emphasize newbie enough. I have a complete stock 93 honda accord (thanks guys for telling me what stock ment). Im not sure completely what I want to start out with, but one thing is for sure, I want to lower my car with suspension, but I have no idea what to choose from, I did a litle research, and I came across 3 ways of lowering your car, Springs, Shocks, and Coil Over Suspension. I probably will never race this car, although who knows. But for the meantime just beetween my house, college, girl, getting beer and work. I would just like better control, maybe being able to take turns a tad bit faster like +15 mph faster than a regular stock car, and not to bouncy, although i have no idea what a bouncy car feels like because I have never driving a suspension car before. Thanks for all the help guys, its really needed for me. Thanks again.
If you're going to go springs I'd recommend the Eibach Pro-Kit first (depending on how low you want it to look b/c it's only going to drop it about 1.2 inches if I'm correct.)
If you're wanting a lower look, I'd recommend the H&R springs or Neuspeed, both are made by the same manufacturer so you're good either way, and they are really affordable. (Drop is about 1.7-1.5 inches, front and rear respectively.)
If you go coilovers, a set that is really affordable and extremely good quality is Ground Control coilovers. I haven't heard many who dislike them, and for the money they are tough to beat.
Aftermarket shocks/struts are recommended but aren't a necessity at first. Down the road they are going to have to be replaced, some brands to look for: Koni, Tokico... etc.
Goodluck man, welcome to the website. It's always nice to see someone who genuinely wants to learn something, tough to find on this site these days w/ all the trolls.
