98 Gsr IACV replaced 3 times same problem need help.
Well I have replaced my IACV 3 times like said. 2 of them used and One new from honda. same problem but i notice that the screw which is 5-sided sticks out more on the new one, does this need to be adjusted? I also checked all other possibilities but no luck yet. Same code for the IACV being faulty. And this only happens when its warmed up. Anyone has experienced this before that can help me out? It surges in a range of 300 rpm around 1300 rpm. before it idle at 900 rpm had it like that for over a year now. this problem has been lasting for about 3 months now. and yes i do clear the code.
Just read some more information. Will a IACV differ from year to year? I have a b18c (block is stamp with year 96) obd2. But it came with a ficv was this standard or the shop changed this? if so I might have solve the problem so for now i have to find out if the IACV differ like from 94-95 and 96-up since those didnt come with FITV, i notice the old one i replaced had a smaller center where the air is control. the one ive been getting have bigger openings if so can anyone verify this? thats right next to the one with a screen on it. I'll be doing a trip on my dc2 soon and dont want it to bog and surge the idle up and down. I'll post pics If needed but that will be until tomorrow. Also, is there a way to not use the FITV other than replacing the TB. I would like to try that and keep my new IACV since those things are expensive.
