Default 94 prelude warm up issues

I have a 94 honda prelude si with a rebuilt motor in right now and it has a few problems.

It only warms up to the first bar usually and will only warm up to the middle if i sit in my car for about 10 minutes and if i start driving it will go back down to one bar. and even when it goes up to one bar it takes a long time around 7 minutes in 65 degree weather. when warming up it idles around 1500 rpms.

also i had all my accessory belts and timing belt changed and i've been driving for about 3000 miles and the belts are still whining is that right? it is a loud whine i cant exactly tell which belt its coming from but its noticeable at all rpms.

Replace the thermostat, it's the only problem that can cause that, besides your radiatior fan being stuck on all the time which it sounds like it isn't. Replace it yourself it's only like 10 bucks. As far as your belts, make sure they're not too tight or too loose, that'l cause em to squeel and make all sorts of sounds.

alright so i'll check into the thermostat (the fans switch on as the should)

and do i need anything special to adjust the belts is there a way to know if its too tight or too loose?

they dont seem loose and i dont know what too tight is.

Rule of thumb I use for the belt is

1. Its on there just right when you can twist the belt only 90 degrees while its on the motor.

alright i just checked and the skinnier of the 2 accessory belts can twist upside down and the other is at about 90 degrees. also which way do i twist the bolt to tighten? and if i tighten it will it tighten both? and would it being loose make it whine? (just to be sure since this is my last post for today.)

any other information would be helpful since i cant post anymore today.

you shouldnt worry about the belts much. the warm up problem is def the thermostat. its what controls the temperature. keeps the coolant in the specified range.

why not worry about belts?

becides the annoying *** noise i heard if they are too tight they can cause quicker wear then regular.
