i have a aem SRI and today when i drove it makes a hissing sound and dont stop until im fully stopped.i never had that noise before and it just starts making that sound. and when i take my key off in the ignition it sounds like its still hissing or sucking air?people says its normal but i never had that problem before. can any one tell me whats wrong? also can anyone tell me what would i know if theres something wrong with my intake? thx

 

My CAI makes a humming noise sometimes. You could probably just fool around with the position of the silicone sleeves and move the pipe around to change the flow of the air if you want to reduce the noise. A different filter might also have a different effect. I'm just putting stuff out there.

check hoses/clamps and make sure it's all on tight. Check the filter for obvious holes. I'd remove the filter actually and check for anything in the tube that shouldn't be there (it should be clean, if theres a streak of something dirty.. that'll help find the leak.

Could also try smoke. Have your car running and stick a lit cigarette near the intake - around hoses.. see if the smoke moves.

Don't drop it. Though.
