Default painting my civic

So I am currently going to school for auto body and collision repair. At the end of the course I am able to do whatever I want for the last 10 days. I was thinking of doing some customizing on my civic. I have an 07 NHBP coupe and was thinking about painting the hood, roof, and trunk (leaving the spoiler black) habanero red pearl. For the hood I was thinking about leaving the sides black too. What do you guys think? Can anybody photoshop this idea? Any other suggestions. I was thinking maybe even the alabaster silver. But I'd like to use an si color for this. If you guys can do some photo shopping for me and give me an idea.

Thanks everybody!

Please don't post your opinion unless it's about a color to use or way to paint it. I don't care for the other shenanigans..

have you thought about testing the colors out on a model before you go and do it on your car.... if they make a model of the civic. get two models side by side and swap paint around see what you like best... id be iffy on going all out on a brand new car.

good luck, try posting in the paint and body forum... see what they say.

yeah get a model, or get on ebay and buy a few toy civics.... I think the habi/black combo like you describe would look horrific.

If I were you, I'd just paint your wheels, and maybe get a CF hood and paint it while you are there.

That sounds awful

Painting a brand new car is a horrible idea in general. Really hurts your resale value

I agree.

But...

Color combos with black...almost as a rule; the black should be the less dominant color, not the other way around. If you really like the habi and black combo, paint the car habi, then paint the hood/roof/trunk black. I think it'd still look terrible but it'd look better than the other way around.

Yeah I'd only do something like that if I planned on keeping the car forever. Otherwise you're gonna end up w/ a Civic that usually has great resale value that nobody wants. It's like when people try to sell their modded up cars for a crap more than what it's worth.

Personally, I don't think painting your new civic is a great idea. I understand the desire to customize, but if you make a mistake, your stuck with it. It goes without saying you will lose any warranty on your factory paint, but you risk losing your warranty on any of the mechanical parts assocaited with the hood, truck and sun roof.

Anyway, just my opinion
