EG, because they're cheaper to replace, and the rear suspension doesn't have the absurd camber curve the EK does.

The EK is supposed to have a much stiffer chassis, but if you cage the car, I suppose you can level the playing field regarding regidity.

Beyond that, EG hands down. Like the others have said, it's lighter. I don't remember the weights of the EK's but a EG CX hatchback was 2050 lbs off of the show room floor. EK's were around 2600-2700 lbs?

Something that most people don't really mention is that EK's have no real steering rack options. The stock steering rack is painfully slow. If you are road racing, it really doesn't matter, but if you are going to autocross, you need a much faster ratio rack. The EG has the capability of taking an Integra steering rack. More readily available are racks from a GSR (anything from '94-'01) and if you can score a Type R rack, it has an even quicker ratio! I have a GSR rack in my '94 hatch and have been contemplating a Type R rack.

Good luck!

Try ~2200lbs. The basest model EK is surprisingly close to that. There is definitely not a 600-700lb difference between the two, unless MAYBE you're comparing the lightest EG to heaviest EK.

For the steering rack thing, I think there's a way to make the ITR rack work. User Chad would know.

Have you thought about a kart? All the fun in a much smaller package? Just a thought.

it doesnt realy matter. any short commings of either chassis can be easily remadied. so pick which ever YOU like best, not what the interweb says you should get.

That goes without saying. I just wanted to lay out the quick and dirty shortcomings of each. For direct swap no modifications upgrades I would prefer the EG/EH.

I'm certainly not going to argue the weight...It's been YEARS since I saw those specs. I was always shocked by how light the CX was...not as light as the earlier chassis but still light.

I'd be interested in seeing how one would swap a Type R/GSR rack (the would mount the same).

I think the media car for NASA is for sale (EG in H2 iirc)

Either way- I think there is a thread about this some years ago. I raced a EK in 2004 for the full season of H1, and also piloted Sam Higashi's Endless EG.

EK has longer wheelbase iirc.

I would go EG, as I see no real apparent benefit to the EK. Also, remember the EK suspension has to be swapped, and there's no sway bars, etc... etc.. (i'm a bit rusty, so I hope I am remembering correctly)
