s2000 Rollbar
In the process of buying or having a rollbar made for the s2000. I'm 6'1'' so clearance is an issue. Also, i want to keep the center console and 'secret storage' compartment. i'm not worried about keeping the plastic roll hoops.
**hoping people could post pics of their bars and what interior looks like w/ the bar in behind the seats. trying to get some ideas as to what i want to do with mine.
Also, what is the safest, lightest material to make it with? and what diameter and wall thickness did you guys use? is their a standard as far as specs go that is adopted by most race tracks? the only thing i really know is that i have to have an inch clearance under the bar w/ a helmet on, and i still want my soft top to close. I don't want to make a bar that will end up unsafe or restricted as to what tracks i can go to in the future.
thanks for the info and help!

thanks... saw that and the thread doesn't really answer my questions too much about specifics or show decent pics of more than one set up.

You're gonna need to sacrifice one of the things you stated for a good roll bar. Harddog makes a great one with the option for no harness bar which allows you to use secret compartment. You do have to trim the roll hoops but can keep them.
Any others are not an option because they limit your seat space. I'm 6' and it sucked getting pushed up so far with my safety 21 4pt but i loved having my bar/seat/harness.

i'm actually looking at the harddog. one of my friends in town just ordered his and i was waiting for him to test fit it before i decide to go with it or not. i probably would've bought one from them already but they only have 1 picture of the bar on their page and i can't really tell how it sits in the car or how things will work out w/ the secret compartment. do you know anyone who's gotten the harddog bar? right now that shop is in the process of redesigning a rollbar for s2k specifically for someone who is 6'3 w/ soft top.... i just want to see how far forward they bring everything (cause it sucks to be slammed up into steering wheel like you said!) lol. it's $670 though and they won't budge a penny. may be worth it though... thats why i'm debating.

I researched the Harddog rollbar hardcore when I was about to get my second S (which sadly never happened and im stuck in this stupid Evo lol).
They make a removable harness bar and cross section bar so you can access but I can imagine it would be a pain in the *** removing the screw each time you get into your secret compartment. Honestly the secret compartment doesn't hold a lot I would just suck it up and get the welded in harness and diagonal bar for added integrity. I also picked up a Recaro SPG and Buddy Club lowdown seat rail which lowered my seat height by about 1.5-2 inches alone. Don't cheap out on safety for the S. Its a high strung sports car. Cheat your car, cheat your life.

This is no interior

This is trimmed and cut trim pieces.
