we dont have many acura 1.6 el in states unless it is bought in canada and brought back to states and transfered ownership in states. otherwise it is just a more luxury version of honda civic.

yeah, know all about it .. it's a slightly heavier Civic EX of the same year with a sexier front-end, better sound baffling, and a d16y8 with a higher-than-average compression ratio. amongst other things.

installing a Jackson Racing charger on it was non-trivial: close enough to the Civic, but not identical .. the water housing in the of the engine, the thermo, master brake cylinder air piping, and such, were different enough that you couldn't follow the pretty pictures from the web.

it has different sway bars, different spring rates, different endlinks, and a few other suspension refinements (such as a thicker subframe by the rear swaybar).

what else .. oh yeah, the interior elements like the shift **** and steering wheel are much sexier than the EX. the 5 star rims are pimp as well. the rear lights don't have any yellow, and the plastic is generally sexier.

made in alliston, ontario.

even the Domani-badged ones that were exported to Japan were built locally. sold extremely well in Canada, but Acura effed it up with the the EL's replacement: the CSX. The CSX is a part-for-part JDM Civic highest end trim. Priced it too far high .. but once again, generally just a little sexier than the Civic.

if anyone has any questions about it ... forums.clubel.ca .. lots of die-hard peeps there. we know the cars failings and quirks all too well, but would maintain it's one of the most refined honda's ever made.
