Are you talking about after you've spun a bearing?
You never really know what you need to replace fix until you drop the pan. But if your doing the labor yourself it doesn't cost much.
I don't know what the going rate at most shops is but I'd imagine they charge you the most to just pull the motor out/in.

spun bearing? well that depends if there is damage to the crank journals. some scratches can be micropolished out but if the damage is bad enough youll need another crank. some people will say you can weld or regrind a journal but I have no knowledge of it and would feel more comfortable with a new crank on such a high revving motor.
