Default just got car back from the shop..need advice

I got my car back this evening after having oil rings/valve seals/cam seals/solenoid seal/and every other seal in the head replaced, also the head gasket, inlet and outlet manifold gaskets, and valve cover gasket replaced. the head was also treated to a mild port and polish job, i also had the timing belt relpaced, and valves adjusted, so hopefully now my oil consumption problem should disappear...what i need to know is, do i now need to have a running in period for the engine, for the seals and gaskets to bed in properly...or can i just gun it as normal....to be honest when i was driving home i was afraid to push it over 60mph and didnt hit the vtec in the whole 32miles home from the shop...BTW its a B18C.

I would baby it like that for about 500 miles Sorry but that is me. I like you am unsure about a head break in but, why risk it?

Yeah, treat it like a brand new engine for 500 miles or so. Let those new rings break in right.

Ok..i think i'll run it easy for about 1k miles just to be sure...now one other question, i was running mobil1 5/40W, i i just dont like the stuff, before i got the work done that stuff ran thru my engine quicker than i could put it in, when i had the engine work done, the shop put mobil1 in again, i'm going to drain it and go with castrol magnatec 10/40...but i was told that its not good to keep changing to different oils, but seeing as all the head seals and oil rings have been replaced, that shouldnt make any difference...or should i just go back to regular grade oil???

Dont woory about it. Let 'er rip man, what are you waiting for? Gaskets dont break in, they break out, and thats when you replaced them, which you have done so go floor it now.

Ive never had a problem with mobil 1.
