Guy came into publix that I know asking me if I wanted an engine he had from a DA. I'm not sure what type yet but for free I've got to. I have a 1996 LS and hopefully I can swap it. I can keep my transmission correct? I would just need to do headwork if it ends up being an engine with vtec.

i doubt its vtec, DA's only had vtec for two years, and in limited numbers, it is the same motor you have now. Id get the motor then sell it for 500 same day if i was you.
