Just got my Polyurethane lip.. what to do to get it ready for paint?
Alright guys, I did search and didnt find anything but Lips for sale...Im running out of time.. Im getting my front end which has a few imperfections fixed tomorrow, and I just got my Polyurethane lip in today.. It says it needs to sit in the sun to return to its form, luckily I work at a Tanning salon and it went tanning instead, but Now what should I do before I take it to the body shop to have painted and put on? Should I sand it down and stuff, and if so, what do I use? Or shoudl I just take it as is and let them worrry about it.. Im already spending 1500 so Im trying not to spend a bunch.. thanks for the help guys.
Let the shop do it. They probably have a standard procedure for raw flexible plastic that works best with their paint system. This way if their is a material or workmanship warranty issue, they can not blame you and disregard your problems. The most I would recommend is to wash it with hot soapy water to remove the mold release agents, but I still would not tell them.
