Tried to diagnose code p1457 evap, now the car wont crank
I tried to test the evap purge control solenoid on my 98 GSR. The helms manual said to jumper 2 pins on the ECU together so I did, by stuffing a wire from the one pin to the next.
It said to start the car and then check for vacuum. Well after I jumpered the wires I tried to start the car, all the lights on the dash came on pump primed, but when I turned the key all the dash lights turned off like the battery was dead. Its a new battery, I threw it on the charger and it was good.
So I take the jumper off and try to start the car....same thing happened.
Checked all the fuses, jumped the service connector and its solid.
Did i burn up my ECU?
