launch control!!
crome also has this, it holds a rpm while engaged then when you pop the clutch it allows you to run to full rpm then there is the no lift to shift it just keeps you from over reving while having it floored

LOL... its beneficial even if the car is stock... what makes it bad?

because a stock car is so weak you're better off getting some skill at driving/lauching. it's probably not bad for the car... just a waste of time and money. a car really is only as good as its driver (up to a point of course).

the launch control on turbo cars also has an added effect, when you are 2 stepping the turbo starts to spool. So essentially you leave the line at boost. Why do you want the 2 step anyway?
crome is a rom editor it allows you to change the "tune" on your car fuel and timing curve are adjusted, and rev limits, speed govners, and other things can be done to change the way the car runs also vtec can be changed to engage sooner or later depending on the power curve check out tunewithcrome.com also http://forum.pgmfi.org you will have to become a member at pgmfi to view or download some of the articles there is free version of crome and free data logging software at pgmfi you will have to do ALOT of reading but if you have questions feel free to ask, i have been tuning my acura and seriously destroying some new mustang gt's
the ecu in the car controls timing and fuel delivery, using the laptop for interface you can change the fuel and timing this is how the tuners do it, check out those sites it is a world of info and the keys to making faster hondas
Just about all standalone tuning applications support launch control (CROME, UBER, HONBLAHBLAH, NEPTUNE).
The point is to launch at a specific, consistent RPM, if you are NA.
For boosted applications, it is for launching at a set RPM, but also, it is to spool the turbo before launch. In this case, you can hold the throttle wide open and your fuel and/or ignition cut will keep you from revving past the set point, as long as the car is stopped. This will spool the turbo much more than if you had just revved it to 5K and held it there.
In the case of the OP, just practice holding at the RPM you want to launch at. Free launch control
