Default Changing release fork without removing tranny possible??

I got a broken clutch release fork (arm behind the throwout bearing) that needs to be changed out. Can I replace it without taking out the tranny or can I work through that little hole behind the slave cylinder. Or do I HAVE to take the tranny out.

no, the throw out bearing is attached to it and it will be nearly impossible to do it wihtout taking it off

The release fork can be detached from the pivot ball, and maybe removed from the throwout bearing, but I don't know if it will clear the housing or not.

I think this would be VERY difficult if it is possible.

If I have time, I will try it on my spare tranny.

I think the arm snapped because it was not greased up the first time due to it seizing like you said. Im pretty sure I can grease the ball up through the opening.

As for the throw out bearing, its not attached to the arm because its 2 seperate pieces. (bearing and fork)

Thanks for the input guys but anybody else ever try it this way?
