2000 Honda Civic EX with LS/VTEC Swap
Alright the time has come for me to sell my car. I'm going off to college in a year so i feel its time i get out of the car scene and think about my future and start banking for college (i can always mess around with cars later in life but college is more important right now). So, heres my car:
2000 Honda Civic EX 2 door coupe, original motor replaced with the ls/vtec swap at about ~119,000. I've put about 9000-10,000 miles on the motor and was told the swap had about 50,000 on it when i bought it so its roughly close to 60k on the swap.
The chassis is in good condition, a few dings here and there but most of them can be fixed with a little detailing, there is NO RUST anywhere on the car. I take excellent care of the paint and i actually just waxed it the other day.
Heres the motor specs:
Stock b18b1 block
b16 head
ITR cams and valvetrain
GSR trans with quaife lsd
exhaust shop 2.25" exhaust (sounds good)
stock b18b exhaust manifold
autozone intake
stock suspension and wheels
ctr style grill
6000k hid kit
running a chipped p28 with hondata s200 (with boost option), untuned but runs good on the basemap. (i get ~22-23mpg on average on this map so if you ask me thats pretty good).
It has had some recent work done:
- clutch replaced with a used very low mileage OEM ITR clutch (the pressure plate wasnt even fully broken in yet, it still had the crosshatch marks on it. the seller was very trustworthy and said he had not even 500 miles on it).
- around the same time the headgasket and 2 intake valves were replaced (ran into a big problem with the dizzy off, long story short, dizzy was in 180 off, it jammed the intake cam which made it slip 180 degrees of timing and bend 2 valves. EVERYTHING HAS BEEN FIXED NOW.
- exhaust is custom bent and brand new from a local exhaust shop, sounds good and doesnt sound raspy/ricey.
The Bad:
- Its untuned but the map its on has served me fine, i've had no problems with the map.
- The dizzy took a crap on me yesterday so as of right now the car does not run, im in the process of finding another dizzy so after that it should start right up and run like before.
- A few dings/scratches here and there on the car, nothing too bad though.
- Motor burns some oil at high rpms (thats the nature of high reving motors), but absolutely no oil at low rpms. (limits of this motor are around 7500 rpm so i had the rev limiter set there, i wouldnt take it higher as that stock bottom end probably wouldn't be able to take anything higher).
- VTEC Solenoid has an oil leak, nothing major just annoying. i have the $7 gasket from honda sitting in my car i just havn't gotten around to putting it in, ill probably end up putting it in but if not i will give it to you, its 3 bolts to take the vtec solenoid off and then just put the new o-ring in.
The Good:
- Interior is in good condition, i clean it out often and also keep it in good shape.
- Stock headunit so its not going to get broken into after sitting at your place overnight.
- Runs good on this basemap and its served me fine as a daily driver for the past 8 months.
- Paint is in good condition, a few scratches/dings here and there but in the summer i waxed it almost once a week and i washed it often when there was salt on the roads this winter. i just waxed it the other day for the first time since about november.
- Exhaust sounds good, no raspy/ricey tone to it.
- Compression read a solid 190psi across all cylinders when the recent headgasket / valve work was done.
- Fresh headgasket, little more than 3500 miles on the car since then.
- Headgasket and valve work done by reputable person, some may know him. his website is: http://wootparts.com - Motiv Race.
- Hondata basemap was done by Pure Tuning.
Heres some pics (the rear bumper looks weird in some of them because there was some black stuff that came out of the muffler on it, i had whiped off some of it but didnt want to rewash the whole car after just waxing it, its nothing to be concerned about):
Most Recent Pics (from yesterday):

Pushing it home after the dizzy broke:

A little bit older (from the summer):

New Exhaust:

From the swap:
(donor car on left, mine on the right):

my new motor:

just bolted in:

all done (that header was only temporary):

New grill:

Pics of oil leak (again this is an easy fix, i have the gasket sitting in my car just havnt had time to put it on and its not leaking at any serious rate, nothing to be concerned about its more of a nuisance than a problem):

Thats about it for pics, i feel i've been very honest with this so i think i am being fair with everybody. The asking price is $6000 obo, im flexible on the price, but im just trying to pay off what we still owe on it and have some cash left for college. If you have any questions just ask! :thumb:
