Default Type R steering wheel

Even though the airbag light will stay on, will the single stage airbag in the JDM Type R wheel still detonate in the event of a collision?

Probably not. I don't think the connectors are even the same.

Well, I have a ep3. I am swapping in the Type R wheel (really just for the real red H emblem but also maybe because it is a Momo too) so I will just swap the detonators.

I've seen a write up somewhere on how to take the stock USDM airbag and fit it in the JDM wheel...let me try to find it

Well, it would be with a defunct airbag since I will use the airbag on the JDM wheel, but yes, it is in near perfect condition. I clean the red stitching with a toothbrush regularly and I use Lexol leather conditioner on it every month.

That way works, but I have seen another link - ANYONE KNOW? - where just the detonator to the airbag is swapped and you use the JDM airbag, but with the dual stage USDM detonator.
