so my buddy works with this one kid that claims to have a type r. he offered to sell it to my buddy for $4500 the kid told him it is a 1999, yellow, tan leather interior, 127,000 miles, been well taken care of, has 18" rims ( in my opinion for the rims), and some small things done to the engine.

is that a good deal? im not too fimiliar with the prices of a type r, i also havent seen it yet but my buddy wants me to go look at it with him some time in the next few days. any thing i should look for or check on it specifically to tell its a true type r?

You should seriously try reading the "FAQ - READ BEFORE ASKING A QUESTION" section but to give you a quick anwser, this car is NOT A TYPE R!!!

Have you never seen a real ITR or seen ITR parts at that?

Even those who do not own an ITR, but just mess with other Hondas know it comes with 15" wheels and the seats are BLACK- At the least they know that.

actually NO i havent seen a REAL ITR, if i had then i dont think i would have asked this question also, no **** they came with 15" wheels, but ppl do CHANGE their rims and tires

also 30 mins later... ummm i could have sworn i said i had to get ready for work and other things quick so there for i didnt have time to sit on the computer and look for stuff for some one else... its not too hard to jump on and write a question, and then just before leave for work jump back on and check it quick... takes maybe 2-3 minutes to do...

thanks for actually giving me some useful advise, my buddy is actually going to look at it on wednesday and will take pictures of it... i know a few ways to tell if its a type r with the body, suspension, engine/trans... but i just wasnt sure what the differences were with the interior or exactly where the plate with the number on it is located... once he shows me the pics ill be able to let you guys know better what it looks like and so on.

Problem solved.....ITR's where not sold in 1999 in the US. ONLY 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001.

That would meant the car you are looking at was not an ITR.

What about in 1989? Did they make an ITR in 1989? Oh btw, it's a Prelude not an Integra, and it's a four door..4 door Prelude Type R.
