Default Manual Tensioner bracket question

when converting to a manual tensioner posts say the L bracket where the auto tensioner used to be will make the tensioner to tight and you cant put the belt on, can you just not use the bracket or will i run into problems keeping the timing belt tight ?

Dont use the bracket but buy shorter bolts to go in the oil pump/block where the tensioner or bracket would bolt to. As long as u follow the instructions to a T, it should work great.

I've seen this talked about, but didn't read much in to it...what's the deal about swapping a tensioner? I just swapped a jdm h22a into my '93 Prelude si and never did this. Is this necessary?

it is unless you want to keep replacing your auto tensioner, and having the chance of damaging some internals in the process
