Default help with my v-tec asap

i have a 95 accord 5sp ex single cam v-tec when i stay on first gear or second to pass 4 rpm ite bucks and ctec wont kick and check engine comes on, before back in october i had changed the distributor cap and rotor along with plugs and wires the problem went away now it came back i see oil debri at the distributor cap crease i am wondering if its the oil causeing the distributor not making it send a good signal to the v tec solinoid that the o ring for the distributor is bad and leaking oil in there and probably i need a whole new distributor or if its the fuel filter? i havent changed that so plz help

Its an old car, the vtec solenoid screen might be plugged up. It's a cheap 5 minute fix.

When the CEL comes on, does it stay on, or go away when your RPM's fall?

once the CEL comes on pull the code.....it will give you futher info on the problem...since its a one cycle code it shouldnt be anything too serious

this happened to me once, and i freaked out.... turned out i had a bad oil leak and the oil had gotten so low that it wasnt engaging VTEC (which is controlled by oil pressure) check your oil level.
