Tach Jumping at Vtec, Vtec sporadic / tried coil, fuel filter, wires plugs etc
I have a 94 gsr motor (b18c1) with a stock p72 ECU obd1
When I goto hit vtec at 5500 rpm the tach starts jumping. Much like it would when you have a bad coil. The motor runs fine up until the point of vtec and the tach responds fine until then. Vtec only works when the tach doesnt jump in the vtec RPM range
I tried a new coil from acura, new wires from acura, new cap and roto button from acura, new fuel filter, new ground wires, new spark plugs, oil change, p28 ecu with gsr program. The only thing I can think is something else in the dizzy would be messing up but I dont know what since there is no Check engine light on. I would love not to have to buy a dizzy so if anyone is familiar with this exact program of the tach jumping only when its supposed to be in vtec. I have an extra obd1 dizzy for a different motor I could use for parts or if it is not the dizzy what could it be. Thanks in advance
