Default CEL question. My blinks are short long short long short long etc. ???

Hey guys,
I used the the sticky at the top to check a CEL that comes on when I'm driving, but then goes away when I turn off the car. I searched and people said it's ok to perform "the test" while the car is running, so that is what I did.

At first I got a short blink, then a long, then a short then a long and it seemed to be repeating from there. Basically, my questions are: a) how do you know when it finished giving the error code and re-starting a new loop? Like Do I assume my code is short long short, or other? or did I not wait long enough?

b)the thread says short=single digits and long=10's, so how do i decipher? short long would be 1+10=11? short long short would be 1+10+1=12?

Thanks inadvance

no if anything there will be long blinks first follow by short blinks. if long blinks are coming on after the short blinks. chances are the code is cycling again or if the blinks are different it could be more codes.

I checked again, and when the car is running, after the code has come up, it's short long short long short long etc.

I decided to turn it off, and check, it's long, short, long, short, long, short etc.
So long short would be 11, but there's no 11 on that list

could be a code 10 and code 1. The pause that differentiates different codes is noticeable. it's about a 3, possible 4 second, pause(no cel).

If your still not sure, head over to autozone and borrow a code reader. just bring your lic. and they'll let you borrow it so you could just read it in the parking lot.
