Has anyone dealt with Garage Kwai in Chicago?

 

yes i have...they did my motor swap...benson is a good guy to do business with!

 

Benson is the man..... they have a nice shop and they do good work highly recommend them... my friend on here E Swift has had work done by them and can vouch for their work.

 

Ive still never been there, do they do machining work (port & polish, etc.)?

 

sent him money blindly and got my item as promised... good guys!!

This is hard to believe. First of all, if you actually went to Garage kwai, you would know how busy they are, and there's no way in hell your car sat there for 12 months. They're so busy, they wouldn't let your car sit there like that. Plus, they charge $25/day for holding your car there. I waited over 2 months to get my car in there finally for install on my turbo, because that's how busy they are. They're very reputable, and if you think that Garage Kwai is a bad place to do business with, I'd like to hear your definition of a good shop.

Sorry not everybody bows down to you, just because you brought a CRX into their shop, and you expect them to stop everything that they're doing, just to serve you.

BTW HBSleeper, go to their shop, and ask them whatever you want to know. Bensen Wong will be able to help you out with anything you need to know.

Well, from the storys i heard of... There was this 92 Civic Si with a H22 swap and the suspension parts wasnt even on tight!!! Something screwed up with the swap... My friends 4door Civic with a ZC motor has a turbo on it, when it was there, my other buddy saw them start up the car and the motor lite up in flames... Another time when my friend had a B18C5 Turbo in a 95 Civic EX, they didnt tune the car right and when a few of my buddys tuned it for him, it snapped ur neck back every gear... Very fast since i drove it before too... I personally never had shop experience with them, but i wouldnt think about going there... Not for installs on major parts at least... If u want a pretty good shop to go to, i can give u my opinion... PM me if u want to kno more...

 

have you guys ever heard of a shop not making mistakes and when a reputable shop does they take care of it 99.9% of the time..Benson is a business man and is out to make sure everyone is happy with what they get...there is no way benson had that car at his shop for a year/12 months because they havent even been at there new location for over a year...and another question is why wouldnt this guy pick his damn car up if it was done...maybe he was a broke *** fool and didnt have the money to pay for the work and the car sat...i find it hard to believe! KWAI is a great shop....no worries

 

yeah kwai is a really good shop. one of my friends spent a shitload of $ building his motor there. they were very helpful anytime we needed anything and werent too expensive (they also got most of their work done pretty fast). Benson is a really nice guy and helps out anyone that goes there to get stuff done. If you live in the Chicagoland area i would reccommend Kwai.

kwai is a good place to go to and so is cyber tek but they dont do swaps!!!benson or pinyo is the man u want to talk with in kwai!!!!

 

1st of all its not my car, he asked opinions about the place, and i saw that on another board, so why are you getting so bent out of shape, do you work for them, do they sponser you, cause well it seems like it, and anyone works there and/or is sponsered by them should keep their mouth shut since it would be a biased opinion...and ASE turbo certification...i personally never saw that in the ASE certif. booklet, maybe they changed now, but i dont remember it, and why the **** would you only be ASE turbo instead of doing the entire program... sounds fishy to me...

 

Hey dumbshit, first of all, they're not just certified in turbo's. I have that on my signature, because that is for anyone whose interested in speaking to a knowledgable person who they can trust when talking about turbo's. You, on the other hand, are wasting everyone's time here.

The guy asked about the shop. And we gave our opinions of the shop. NOT somebody elses opinion that could very well be bullshit.

Why don't you go into the shop yourself, and see for yourself how friendly and trustworthy Garage Kwai can be. You might not be so biased yourself, considering you already have an opinion of them because of what somebody else told you.

And no, I am not sponsored by them, but I have had a lot of **** done by them, and am having more stuff done tomorrow, so I CAN say that they're a good place to go, because I've gone there, unlike your dumbass.

 

and yes i do work with them...i am an autorized dealer through benson...i have know him for years and there is nothing wrong with his shop! so there you go smartass

i never had an opinion on them 1st of all...i still dont i never bought **** from them, so i cant say anything, once again, i posted someone else's opinion and with your sign, it looks like your saying they are ASE certified in the turbo field, why dont you change that...are they a ASE BLUE SEAL???

Garage Kwai friendly??? It may be so... Trustworthly??? I had no personally experience, but i do have true storys that i have posted... I know 2 workers there and one in fact is my friend since 7th grade... Pinyo is a cool guy, i forgot that he started working there not too long ago, so their services in installation might have went up... Not so sure about the other guys in there...

 

Huh? What the hell does some other customer have to do with shopping at a certain place? Cry me a ******* river! If you weren't so narrow-minded, you would see that all I am doing is giving a good referral. I have plenty of experience with Garage kwai, as well as others obviously as you can see.

I'm not going to act like we're in 6th grade now. You can think what you want of the shop, but, I'm going to stick to my word when i say that Garage Kwai is a very good place to go to.

I was trying to search for it, i read this along time ago and only read the first few pages... It listed something about Garage Kwai in the first page...

As for the shop a few doors down from Kwai, WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY THINKING??? They are up against a shop thats been around for quite some time now...

All the things i listed before is my opinion, but i still would never have them do installs on my car... Maybe because my cousin owns a shop and have people i let do basically every major mod on my car... One of the mechanics has been a good buddy that takes care of me since 95 and another is my cousin... I stick to good service and people i know that wont *** me over...

The guy who created this post, only wanted to know of how good the shop was. And you decide to post something from somebody from some other forum. That link that you posted had nothing to do with your own experiences there. When you walk through there door, and speak to them about something or have something done by them, THEN you can reply to this post, and tell what you think of the place. But until then, keep your mouth shut.

I've gone there for just about everything on my R, they are very knowledgable, do great work, and offer great prices. I personally think they are the best shop to have motorwork done in the Chicagoland area. The only thing they are missing is a Dyno...

The thing I like most about Benson is that he's honest with you. I asked him today if I should buy a copper head gasket and a few other things, and he told me exactly what I needed. He didn't just try to sell all of this stuff off to me. He told me what I honestly need right now for my setup. I'd like to see another shop recommend you not to buy something from them if you don't really need it.

i heard one6 only do cavailer!!!! but y open a shop next to kwai??? there is enough shop around in chicago land area and open another one next to one of the best shops around is not too smart!!!!!
p.s. garage kwai was there first!!!!
