I know this works on newer Accords, not sure about older ones. Try turning the key on with the radio off. Then hold the 1 and 6 preset buttons down and press the power button on the radio. This should give you a 5 digit number folowed by a 2nd 5 digit number. That is the serial number. If it matches the number you gave to honda then your radio is fubar. If not, give em that number. Like I said, i'm not certain that it will work on yours. Give it a shot and let me know if it does work.

The code they gave you should be the correct one, just go to another honda dealership to verify or go back to the same one and speak to a different tech.

Assuming you're entering it correctly - CODE displayed on the screen then your radio is broken.

I believe it beeps twice then shuts off. Then you can turn it back on and it'll work

Do'h should've thought of this,

Check the "backup radio/antenna fuse" or something along those lines, I believe it's on the interior of the car.

It's possible that's what's preventing you from getting it working.Nothing in the car would prevent you from swapping radios.

Worst case is buy a $50 aftermarket

see if every time you punch in the code the keys or preset button are not sticky....or they are actually making contact......worst case scenario buy one from the junk yards.....
