hello-
car is a 92 gsr. i dont understand this, but pretty consistantly my car won't start but only right after i drive it. for example.. i will drive home from work, park my car in the garage, and if i try to leave within the next hour or two it wont even try to crank. the only thing i can hear is the fuel pump. its weird though, because then i'll leave it sitting overnight, and in the morning it will start right up. it's like when the car is warmed up it just wont even crank. i've checked all fuses and battery voltage and everything checks out just fine.
anybody have any ideas? this things got me good and confused

without looking at the car myself its hard to say but i would put $ on it that its a bad starter...next time it wont start have someone hold the key like ur trying to start it and hit the starter with something..a hammer and braker bar or someting like that...

thanks for the input. it could be the starter. that would just suck because i replaced it less than a year ago. i'll try to look into it. it is intermitten though, like you said. sometimes i'll get lucky and it will work. but lots of times when i run to a store or something i come back out and end up having to push start, which is no fun by yourself lol...
check the voltage on your battery when the car is running and when the car is off. make sure its constantly between 13 and 14 volts if not your alternator might not be charging ur battery and its boarderline of dying.

yea the battery does stay up between 13 and 14 when car is running, and when car is off, it will be around 12.5-13. battery and alternator seem fine. i didnt get to mess around tooo much this weekend, but hitting the starter didnt seem to help any. it seems like that's the most likely cause, unless there's relay's or something else that im not seeing. anyone have anymore ideas to help me troubleshoot this...
i know there's some relays and whatnot that could be involved, but does anyone know how to pinpoint the problem. if the main relay was bad would the car still at least try to turn over and just not get fuel? because my car won't try to do anything unless it's cold and sat in the garage overnight lol. except for a lucky once in awhile.
thanks for the help and input thus far guys!
