I have a 97 that was a d16y7 auto car, which i swapped with a d16y8 manual that came out of a 00 ex..... the everything has been pretty clear, and has gone just fine. I am however, having an issue with this one coolant line. Not sure where it is supposed to hook up to.... I followed it to a "t" and there is just one hose coming off of it, and i have no idea where it is supposed to go.



the arrow points to about where the "t" is that i found. from that "t" there is one line coming off. If someone could just tell me where this belongs i would be headache free. Thanks

*edti: after further research *while sober* i was able to determine that this is not a vacuum line.....

This is a coolant line and the "t" is near the thermostat. Can someone tell me where the extra coolant line is supposed to go?? Thanks

the 99-00 d16y8 had air assist holes, which is the line your looking at. block it off. im not sure if you can just plug that line, you may have to plug each hole, you wil have to take the mani off to do this. or you could get a 96-98 y8 mani and not worry about it.

 

all i did was unplug both of the hoses that run to the T, just plug them up, thats all i did and my car runs fine. and i dont think you have to take of the mani the other end of the hose runs to the intake tube, just get to vacume plugs from auto zone and you will be fine

This is part of the air injection system. Running a 97 you do not use it. Cap it off.

In the end just cap it off. Thats what i did on mine.

what air injection system?? and you are sure that we are talking about a coolant line right?

I traced this hose to a "T" that bolts into the thermostat housing..... from there i have one rouge hose...... is this what we are talking about capping off? a coolant line?

 

thats not a coolant line.

followed this hose to the thermostat/heater hose housing.......

 

trust me this isnt a coolent line just unplug both of them and start your car obviusly plug up the hole that goes to the head. but this is not a coolent line look were the hoses run they would nut run coolent staright into your head or intake. if you take the two hoses off and plug up were they were your car will run fine, just trust me i was worried to until i did it and everything still ran fine and it did not pull a code.

 

alright.... i'll be disconnecting those and plugging.

came across another issue tho..... wrong harness for my car, obd2b motor and harness in a obd2a car
