HELP: Doors won't lock
I know you guys have probably heard of this problem a thousand times, but my problem is unique. I have a '94 Integra LS with stock power locks. The security system that came with the car is an Audiovox Prestige system. I'm not exactly sure on the model, but the fob says APS2K4. The security system was working great until I let the car sit for a week. When I got in the car to drive it, I unlocked it and didn't notice anything until I tried to get out. I took my seat belt off and my doors locked. This happens when I take the key out with my seat belt on as well. When I try to lock the doors with my fob, the lights blink and the alarm is active, but the doors will not lock. They unlock fine, but they refuse to lock whatsoever. I know alot of you are familiar with the Prestige line from my searches, so it'd be great to let me know where to start. Also, the alarm does not beep when I lock/unlock it anymore. Please help because this is annoying and I don't feel safe with my car just locked!
First thing I would like to know is, do the power door locks work properly when you use the power door lock switch on the drivers door and if you use the key in the drivers door?
If not, then the problem is not in the alarm.
If yes, then the problem may be as simple as a poor connection of the alarms lock output lead to the cars lock control lead, or it could be the alarms door lock output control is blown.
So before you go and spend money on something you may not need, trace down the problem.
Audiovox makes a pretty good and dependable product, I know because I have been installing them for a very long time with few issues, and although it can fail like any other brand, I would bet your problem is not the alarm itself.

I really like this alarm. I did notice one problem though. My passenger's side door lock does not lock. Do you think this could be part of the problem?
Is the pass door the only one that does not lock?
"do the power door locks work properly when you use the power door lock switch on the drivers door" Do they?

You will need a multimeter to trace the problem but my guess is the actuator, [door lock motor].
You will need to test the two leads going to the pass. door actuator, [white/red and yellow/red] both leads will/should test as grounds, the white/red will/should test as 12V+ when locking the doors, [the yellow/red will stay as a ground] the yellow/red will/should test as 12V+ when unlocking the doors, [the white/red will stay as a ground].
Power door locks are a "ground at rest polarity reversing system" meaning bothe wires going to the door lock motor are grounds at rest, [when not locking or unlocking] the ground is "lifted" on one or the other of the leads and 12V+ is supplied to lock/unlock.
Because the drivers door lock works and the pass. door lock unlocks tells us the "Power Door Lock Control Unit" and all the wiring is good, with one possible exception, the white/red, [lock lead] going to the pass. door actuator is broken and the actuator side is shorted to ground, [allowing the door to unlock but not to lock] and it would have to be broken and not just shorted to ground or a fuse would blow, [fuse 6 - 20A]

That is some GREAT information fcm. I really appreciate you taking your time to explain all this to me. So, to summarize, I should go about replacing the actuator. Correct?
