Default De-Badge

So earlier today I was looking through the forums for information about de-badging a car. I didn't really come up with any information except on how to take off the middle badge pieces. But what about the two side badges (that is if you still have them.)

The easiest way I found was to just get a scrapper, put some like two layers of duct tape on it.

While using the scrapper, heat the badge with a simple blow dryer or heat gun. No need to go fast because you want quality not speed.

Then just use a simple tar\bug remover and wipe off the rest. If you have trouble wiping it off the first time, just keep wiping. It took me around 5 times but it was worth it. (You could use other products such as goo gone which is a popular one or WD-40, anything really that'll take off adhesive materials and is noncorosive and won't damage the paint.)

Then just a simple wax and seal it, and make sure its one that prevents oxidation.

There you have it.

Note: If you repainted your car, most likely the original paint will still be underneath the badge unless you took them off and put them back on. So it's ok if there's color distortion when you de-badge it.

i used to run a detail shop and believe it or not you can use lacquer thinner on old paint without damaging it at all as long as the clear coat is still decent
