Air bag block off tray
Does anyone know if there is a block off tray or plate to cover the dash hole after the passenger airbag is removed? I am putting in a Momo wheel with no airbag, and I would like to just remove the other airbag as well.
I don't understand. You want the passenger airbag to be disabled or you want it to show that you removed it? I don't think you'll find anything that fits so nice and flows like the stock piece.
On the DC5, it's possible to remove the cover on the passenger air bag and pop JUST the cover back in. The cover has clips which hold it in against the dash. I'd only imagine the EP3 passenger airbag follows the same design.
And airbags are airbags, we used to have cars not that long ago that didn't come with them, and obviously they're not that big of a deal seeing how a lot of cars give you the option to turn off the passenger air bag or it turns itself off if the passenger is a small/light person. Look at the NSX-R, no airbags...at least not for the driver, all it has is a seat and a seat belt...the car is still safe.

yeah man i hear ya, im going to rip mine out soon but you should be able to put the cover back on the passenger side if not make one out of fiber glass or if you wanna be a baller get some carbon fiber sheeting and make your own

Ok, cool. So, I can just remove the airbag and put just the cover back in. That will work out. I just thought that the cover was connected to the airbag itself, so if I removed the airbag there would be a hole. Thanks for the info. I may or may not remove the srs, it will depend on if I get a Type R wheel (with SRS) or a Momo wheel (no SRS).

I did the same on my rally car, that hole there looks pathetic. I'm actually in the process of covering it right now, I had some material and cut a piece to size, next I'm using some heat glue to put it in place.
After that I'm flocking the whole dash and any imperfections will be covered.

I believe the cover isn't designed to be removed, but I've heard you can remove it and it does have clips to just secure the cover to the dash. Just be careful with what your doing. The airbag might be ruined by removing the cover and not be reuseable if you were to sell it to someone else or w/e.
Also I'm not sure if the EP3 airbag uses the same design...I'm just going off the normal Honda idea where everything is usually the same, etc.

Airbags have been put on regular street cars because they help make your car safer in the event of an accident. PASSENGER airbags are sometimes disabled because it is actually more dangerous for infants and those riding in car seats. The force of the airbag can deal large amounts of damage to their growing and brittle bones where it would only maybe sometimes bruise adults.
If this isn't going to be a 100% track car, please keep your airbag in your car. If you ever had to drive your mom, grandma, grandpa, dad, sister, or anyone you know around and you were to get in an accident and they died because of the lack of that passenger airbag, it will be bad times. Dark, gloomy, and depressive times.
If you want to take out an airbag, change your steering wheel. Don't risk your passengers life because you wanted your car to look cool.

Well, I decided to go with a DC5R wheel, so I won't remove the passenger airbag. However, I would have no problems removing it. Airbags are not necessary. As long as you have a proper safety belt, you are good. I might not even hook up the airbag on the DC5 wheel - still debating it.
The insurance company will only look into the matter if there are injuries. There are plenty of ways to justify it. I really don't like the idea of getting into a minor collision (never happened before, but you never can tell) enough to deploy the airbags. Now I am out the money I paid for the JDM steering wheel and I once it was replaced, it would be the US black emblem airbag again. Vanity I know, but the main reason I got the JDM wheel is just to have the real red emblem.
I treat airbags like other "luxuries", i.e. power windows, locks, cruise control (which I removed for the most part since I don't use it anyway), intermittent wipers, leather, etc.

airbags as a luxury? you are comparing a SAFETY ITEM to power door locks?
Did you realize how much an airbag helps in a head-on collision? Yes, you might think it will never happen to you, but they are called accidents for a reason.
Do me a favor. If you want to risk your life in the event of an accident, feel free to do so, but keep the passengers airbag in their for the sake of your passengers.
Also, why did the person above me bump a 4 month old thread?

You can turn off your passenger airbag, not because some numb nut designer wants to give you the option, but because if you have a child, or a baby in the front, which you shouldn't anyways, its an option.
Good weight reduction right? Kill your passenger to save 3 lbs! wooooo! Race on!

Meh, passenger airbags are a relatively new thing for Hondas.

If the passenger knows the airbag isn't functional, it won't go far i court as passengers over 18 give "consent" to the driver. This is why drivers get seat belt tickets if a 17 year old passenger isn't wearing a belt but not if the passenger is 18.

the good news is that regardless of what age the passenger is, it is still illegal for you to remove the airbag by law. Any car that was designed with an airbag must not have an airbag removed unless there is a legit medical reason in order to do so.

please note that I don't care about you. I hope your passenger sues the crap out of you for endangering their lives (especially in the event of a head-on crash).
as far as airbags being new, you would kind of figure that they have been putting more and more airbags in cars because it is safer, but it does not seem like your thought process is fully functional, but I will give you the benefit of the doubt.
