Default Car won't start, Please help

Hey.

Here's the story:

Car died last Sat. (3/8). Battery is fine according to Kragen. It charges, and my car cranks.
Thought at first alternator, but car cranks, and battery does charge.

Friend that's a mechanic said it all leads to distributor. Dist. had corrosion and rust inside, but I had another mechanic work on the car about 1 mo. ago replacing the coil and module inside the dist.

Anyways, just towed it Wed., and called up mechanic yesterday. Now he's telling me that he put on the new dist. but it has the same problems.
It ran, but then died again. (He changed this story when I went there in person, saying that it "didn't" run, but f*d up again, and didn't catch himself saying that it ran).

He asked if he should bring his friend that does a lot of mechanical work, but guy charges $150 just to diagnose it. I don't trust him anymore.

I asked him, what do you think it is then? He said, my alarm might also be the problem. Supposedly the wiring looks "messy" and it might have short circuited the computer.
But i've had that alarm for 2 years, and professionally installed.
I can't just tow my car to that place and say, "hey your alarm short circuited my car!" I don't know that for a fact, and he's basing it on assumption.
And I highly disbelieve that, because the car wouldn't turn on if wiring was out.

What do you all think? I'm really on the fence here because I don't know if he's just bs'n me or if it's the alarm, could it really have done that??

I mean it's been 2 years that i've had the alarm, it does have a kill switch, but no one has ever broken into it, nor have I even messed with the switch.

Please help, i'm in desperate need of it.

Thank you very much.

F*n TI doesn't seem to help anymore, all they're interested about is having the JDM look. They give a shet about people that need help.

But any think it might be something else?

I am on the verge of buying a new distributor from that company, Distributor King. Install it myself...

Please help

Two major things need to be taken into consideration when diagnosing your vehicle, and because I know not what year, make or model, I'll start here.

Fuel and Spark.

When you turn the key to the ON position, (without trying to start the car) do you hear the fuel pump prime? ( buzzing type tone) If you hear this, you're usually getting fuel.

You should probably buy an ignition spark tester like this one

In most cases, you will only need to use this on one spark plug wire. Attempt to start you vehicle, but just long enough to see if there are a few sparks from your tool. If not, then remove your distributor cap, and make certain that your rotor button is properly fastened (I've seen this happen to people many times, but just give the installer a good ) If the rotor is secure and you still are not receiving spark, you sir, may have a faulty coil or distributor. Even though the coil may be new, It is an electronic device and it's not guaranteed for life. sometimes these things come from the factory in a non-functioning state.

hmm I'm thirsty...
