b16 swap
ive been into trucks and jeeps till recently. 2 mo ago i got a 93 hatch with 16 swap, i dont know alot about honda, my car feels muddy on the accelerater, it pulls hard and for the most part drives very smooth, sometimes when acceling it kinda bogs down, sputters and then catches and goes??? dont think its runnin 100%. any advice? also if any you guys live in the area and ever meet up let me know. involved in 4x4 clubs but dont know any import ones.
You're right. Its NOT running right. Sounds like some bad spark plug/ spark plug wire thing going on. Any Check engine light code? First pull your plugs, check wires for breakage. Good way to check wires is in as dark as posible, check for arching sparks over your valve cover. If not, I'd go towards the distributor from there. Anyways, pull them plugs and check them out! And replace them if needed with OEM NGK, its been dyno proven to be the best, wires n spark plugs.
thanks guys. is there a place where i can get a manual for my motor? chiltons cant really help. and it is throwing a code, two long...one short...then three seconds later another real quick flash... then it repeats, i checked the cel code on here and it said its something to do with the vtec. havent had time to go by advance and let them get me a printout tho. will do it when i get new plugs and wires.
where should i start? i want more torque, its real zippy but not real torquey, someone said i could throw a turbo on for pretty cheap, someone else said get a gsr block. ????

I can't tell ya anything about your codes, but can comment on the lack of torque. The b16 makes great hp per L but is a puss when it comes to torque. The gsr block is a b18c1 block which is in the integra gsr's and that will bolt directly to your b16 head. You'd need a few misc. parts but nothing big. Another popular thing to do with your b16 head is to mate it with an integra ls block with it (b18b) That requires more work though because the ls block is not designed for vtec, but it's commonly done. Or you could go even better and mate your head with a b20 block which comes in the crv's making it what is known as a crvtec engine. That would make a world of difference in torque. Good luck and take the time to learn all the possibilities with your new honda, you'll love it.
Here's a link to all the possibilities for engine swaps and blocks for your car. Any engine that has a b in front of it (b16a, b18c yadda yadda, the block will bolt to your head giving you more torque.)
